Review of Challenge Accepted

Remember my post CHALLENGE ACCEPTED? I promised to share with you the experience of cooking these recipes for the first time:

1. SPINACH AND BACON FRITTATA

I prepared this for breakfast as a request from Edward. I liked that it has that amount of spinach to somehow "cleanse" the bacon. Para kunyari hindi guilty sa bacon. Haha!

Tip for future cooking: Line the pan with wax paper or drizzle it with a little oil before you put it in the oven or turbo.

I had a hard time taking it out the baking pan without destroying its shape. Good thing I still had enough decent portions to feature here. Baka naging omelette yun at hindi frittata. Haha!

2. BASIL CREME PENNE

I shared the recipe here: BASIL CREME PENNE.

I like how simple this recipe is. Very easy to cook, and the taste is not overpowering.

3. CHICKEN AFRITADA

I was nervous to cook this famous Pinoy dish. Of course, even I, had standards on how this SHOULD taste.  I was really delighted when it turned out just right! Whew! Kaya ko pala 'to! :-)

Tip for future cooking:  Half the portions of bell peppers. It was tiring to chew on much bell peppers indicated on my diet recipe. Oooor maybe it was made such since it was a recipe for those who are on a diet! More veggies daw! Haha!

4. CHINESE SOUP

SORRY, I didn't get to cook this because I was scheduled (yes, scheduled, on a diet remember? :-P) to cook this Tuesday night. It was Mom's birthday!!! So wala munang diet-diet. Hence, no picture of the Chinese Soup. Sorry again. :-)

5. GREEK SALAD

I shared the recipe here: GREEK SALAD.

This salad is very easy to the taste. Hindi nakakasawa. :-)

6. TUNA RILLETTES

I am not sure why I do not have a picture of this. I'm looking still, though. Will post as soon as I locate one.

This tuna pate is very simple to prepare. It's best to partner with saltine crackers or crunchy bread, a variation to the Bruschetta (brus-KET-ta) perhaps.

Tip for future cooking: Easy on the pepper. It tends to overpower the whole tuna mix. Add it little by little until it tastes right.

7. GINILING GUISADO

The combination of flavors is reminiscent to Bistek (Pinoy-style beef steak). Easy to eat because it's ground beef!

The diet recipe provided correct proportions of ingredients. Perfect!

Looking forward to try more recipes! Basta dapat, ang parating sagot ay "CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!"
