Now, it's time for us to review the recipes on We Can Do It!
1. CHICKEN BARBECUE
I have always been a sucker for barbecue. Something about the salty sour sweet spicy sauce it has. I particularly like how this has that kalamansi flavor. Very Pinoy bistek-type of barbecue. Yummy!
Tip for future cooking: You can always adjust the main flavor of this barbecue. Make it sweet, add more sugar; salty, add more soy sauce; spicy, add more pepper, onions or chili pepper; sour, add more kalamansi. Awesome!
2. ORIENTAL PORK TENDERLOIN
I shared the recipe here: ORIENTAL PORK TENDERLOIN
Try this low-fat yummy dish!
3. FRENCH COUNTRY CHICKEN WITH MUSHROOM SAUCE
I shared the recipe here: FRENCH COUNTRY CHICKEN WITH MUSHROOM SAUCE
Mala-gravy ba? Cook this.
4. SHRIMP AND TOGUE GUISADO
Whenever guisado is mentioned, tomato sauce usually never comes to mind. Something different to try, this one. Too bad, I'm not giddy to try this again. Allergic to shrimp, boo! ! Hahaha! :-P
Tip for future cooking: Balance the sourness of the tomato sauce with salt and pepper. Add salt and pepper little by little until desired taste is reached.
5. SITAW CON CARNE
Didn't get to cook this last week. Was lured by party food. Haha!
6. FISH KEBAB
This is a refreshing change to this week's dishes of sauces and marinades. The simplicity of this kebab reminds you of summer by the beach -- barbecue, pineapple, fish.
Tip for future cooking: If you are cooking this in a turbo broiler or in an oven, crush some pineapples (retain the juice from the crushing) and pierce (with fork) some bell pepper, and line them on the pan. This will add flavor to your kebab. Cooking it on a grill? Pulse in a food processor some bell pepper and pineapple until it becomes watery. Brush the mixture on the kebab while grilling. Summer looove!
7. CHICKEN GUISADO
This is my favorite dish for the week. The chicken soy sauce marinade and the tomato sauce complemented well, and the singkamas and snow peas (sitsaro) added crunch to this rich union. Pampawala ng gutom talaga ito! :-)
We owned this week's lineup. I told you, WE CAN DO IT!
Cheers to more recipes!
